NEW DIRECTION FOR THE CLARINGTON EAGLES!
Date: Aug 12, 2021
Today the Port Hope Panthers announced that the Cats will take on the Little Britain Merchants in a 4-game bubble series over the course of the month of March, with all of the games to be played at the Jack Burger Sports Complex (JBSC). The Panthers returned to the Jack Burger Sports Complex (JBSC) in mid-February for practices at the conclusion of the lockdown in Northumberland.
"We had a Zoom meeting with our players as it looked like we would be coming out of lockdown and they indicated that they wanted to get back on the ice and to play games if possible, we're glad to be able to offer that to our players who deserve every opportunity to be on the ice," said General Manager Alex Guiney on the Panthers return to the JBSC post-lockdown. "We're thankful for the support of the Jack Burger as well as the PJHL in facilitating this series and look forward to continuing the development of our team and players as we take on the Merchants."
Due to public health restrictions, fans will not be able to attend; however, the Panthers will ensure that each game is recorded so that fans can watch the games. "We're currently ironing out the details of how we're going to be able to make the games assessable to our fans, but our commitment is to ensure that each game is recorded and can be uploaded online so that our fans can enjoy watching our players play the game that they love."
This will be the Panther's second 'bubble' series, with the Panthers playing the Picton Pirates in a 3-game series in December.
