Port Perry holds on for 4-3 win against Lakefield

The Port Perry Mojacks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Lakefield Chiefs on the way to a 4-3 win.

A goal by Lucas Clark put Port Perry up 4-2 in the second period, but Lakefield pulled to within one on Jayd Killingbeck's tally 18:30 into the third period.

The Mojacks were led by Konrad Piorkowski, who registered two goals. Piorkowski scored the first of his two goals at 5:02 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Chris Polito picked up the assist. Piorkowski's next tally made the score 2-1 Port Perry with 10:54 left in the first period. Port Perry also got points from Graham Lamers, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Kyle Schweda, who had two.

The Chiefs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Port Perry power plays. Lakefield kept Port Perry's goalie busy throughout the game, and Blake Shaw made 33 saves on 36 shots.

Lakefield additionally got points from Eric Oosting, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Lakefield came via Jeff Hawthorne, Nick Hildebrand, and Max Moloney APM, who contributed one each.

The Mojacks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Chiefs' starting goalie, Brad Smith, made 15 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Michael Christie, who stopped nine shots. Lakefield incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
