A stellar performance between the pipes by Thomas Heemskerk helped the Quad City Mallards defeat Rapid City, 3-1. The win by Quad City clinched the best of seven series at 4-3. The Mallards were led by Thomas Frazee, who had one goal and one assist. Frazee scored 7:01 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Quad City. Jeff Lee assisted on the tally. Quad City additionally got points from Jordan Mayer, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Vladimir Nikiforov also scored for Quad City. In addition, Quad City received assists from Darren McMillan, Matt Boyd, and Matt Duffy, who contributed one each. Rapid City was led by Winston Day Chief, who scored the team's only goal.
