Denver downs Tulsa in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Garett Bembridge gave the Denver Cutthroats a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Tulsa Oilers when he scored 14:15 into the extra period.

The win by Denver clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Cutthroats were led by Bembridge, who finished with one goal.

Denver kept Tulsa's goalie busy throughout the game, and Shane Madolora made 27 saves on 32 shots.

Denver also got points from Troy Schwab, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, AJ Gale, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Cam Reid, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Steve Kaunisto also scored for Denver. Other players who recorded assists for Denver were Lee Moffie, who had two and Vincent Arseneau, Kyle Fletcher, Daniel Barczuk, and Aaron MacKenzie, who each chipped in one.

The Oilers' offense rang up 33 shots on the Cutthroats' net.

Tulsa was helped by Todd Robinson, who had one goal. Robinson scored on the power play 13:55 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Denver. The Oilers earned a power play opportunity when Schwab was put in the box for tripping. Scott Macaulay picked up the assist. Tulsa additionally got points from Macaulay, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Adam Pleskach, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Ben Gordon, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Tulsa came via Drew Fisher, who had two and Ryan Menei, who had three.

John Griggs made 29 saves for Denver on 33 shots. The Cutthroats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tulsa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
