Denver downs Tulsa, 2-0

BOK Center    Sun, Mar 30, 2014

Steve Kaunisto grabbed one point to lead the Denver Cutthroats to a 2-0 victory over the Tulsa Oilers.

Denver stifled Tulsa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cutthroats' defensive effort looked to be improved. Denver averages 2.9 goals allowed per game. The Cutthroats relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Jean-Philipp Chabot, AJ Gale and Daniel Barczuk took 17 of the team's 29 shots.

In addition, Denver received assists from Troy Schwab, Cam Reid, and Garett Bembridge, who contributed one each.

The Oilers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Tulsa puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

The Oilers were led by Adam Pleskach, who took three shots.

John Griggs made 18 saves for Denver on 18 shots. The Cutthroats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brad Fogal rejected 27 shots on goal for Tulsa. The Oilers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
