Vincent Arseneau netted a hat trick to lead the Denver Cutthroats over the Quad City Mallards, 6-3. Arseneau notched his first tally 11:04 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:00 into the second and at 18:16 into the second.Denver's penalty kill excelled, as the Cutthroats gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Denver found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Cutthroats average 3.4 goals per game. Denver additionally got points from Troy Schwab, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Daniel Barczuk, who also had one goal and one assist. Denver also got a goal from Jean-Philipp Chabot as well. More assists for Denver came via Lee Moffie, Steve Kaunisto, and Cam Reid, who each chipped in one and TJ Fox and Garett Bembridge, who contributed two each. Quad City's offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 28.9 shots per game it averages. The Mallards were helped by Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel, who tallied one goal. Dieude-Fauvel scored 4:18 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Denver. Mike Stinziani provided the assist. Quad City also had goals scored by Jeff Lee and Justin Fox, who scored one goal each. In addition, Quad City received assists from Nicholas Rioux, Matt Duffy, and Ty Rimmer, who each chipped in one. John Griggs rejected 29 shots on goal for Denver. The Cutthroats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Quad City's starting goalie, Ty Rimmer, made 18 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Thomas Heemskerk, who stopped four shots.
