Huge game by Baker boosts Arizona over Rapid City, 5-1

Kevin Baker was all over the ice for the Arizona Sundogs, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Arizona's 5-1 win over Rapid City.

Baker scored on the power play at 12:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona and again while nine seconds into the second to make the score 2-1 Arizona.

Rapid City was stymied by the Sundogs netminder Andrew Engelage, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. The solid play of Engelage will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.45.

Arizona's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Rapid City power plays. By firing 30 shots on goal, the Sundogs exceeded the 24.9 shots they average per game this year. Arizona surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Sundogs average 2.8 goals per contest.

Arizona additionally got points from Paul McIlveen, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Arizona also had goals scored by Matt McCready and Alex Tuckerman, who scored one goal each. More assists for Arizona came via Michael Trebish, who had two and Bryan Cameron, Mark Isherwood, Jordan Clendenning, Jason Morgan, and David Rutherford, who contributed one a piece.

Rapid City's offense operated below it season average. Rapid City averages 3.6 goals per game.

Rapid City was led by Sean Erickson, who scored the team's only goal. Erickson scored 17:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brett Kostolansky picked up the assist.

Arizona incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Keaton Hartigan recorded 25 saves for Rapid City. Rapid City incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
