Courtney lifts Missouri over Rapid City, 5-1

Andrew Courtney had two goals to lead the Missouri Mavericks to a 5-1 victory over Rapid City.

Courtney's tallies came on the power play at 5:03 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Missouri and on the power play 18:49 into the second to make the score 5-1 Missouri.

Missouri was below its usual level of shot production, taking 15 shots compared to the 27.4 the Mavericks average. Missouri cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on three chances.

Missouri also got points from Eric Castonguay, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Trevor Kell, who also had one goal and one assist, and John-Scott Dickson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Missouri received assists from Sebastien Thinel, who had two and Anders Franzon, Mike Ramsay, Rob Kleebaum, and Colt King, who each chipped in one.

Rapid City did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Rapid City puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. Rapid City gave up more goals than its normal season average. Rapid City gives up 2.5 goals per game.

Rapid City was led by Kyle Stroh, who took two shots.

Shane Owen recorded 24 saves for the Mavericks. Missouri incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Rapid City's starting goalie, Keaton Hartigan, made six saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Tim Boron, who stopped four shots. Rapid City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
