St. Charles erases deficit to stun Quad City, 4-3i-wireless Center Fri, Jan 03, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Charles Chill climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Quad City Mallards, 4-3. St. Charles let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Chill took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Ryan Berard at 3:37 in the first period. St. Charles went down 3-1 after Quad City's Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel put the puck home at 19:10 in the second period. After knotting things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by John Snowden at 13:03 in the third, the Chill got the game-winner from Berard at 15:40 in the third period. Berard had two goals to lead St. Charles to victory. The Chill put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 20.5 they average per game. St. Charles additionally got points from Nicklas Lindberg, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for St. Charles were Zack Josepher, Michael MacIntyre, Justin Levac, Kyle OKane, and Jordan Fox, who contributed one a piece. The Mallards' offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 16 shots on net during the game. Quad City's offense was clicking better than usual and put 36 shots on goal during the game, better than the 32.4 shots per game it averages. Quad City also had goals scored by Gergo Nagy and Jim McKenzie, who scored one goal each. The Chill incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Ty Rimmer recorded 26 saves for the Mallards. Quad City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
