A stellar performance between the pipes by David Brown helped the Wichita Thunder defeat the Missouri Mavericks, 2-1. Wichita was led by Jon Booras, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Booras scored 11:40 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Wichita. Tyler Hostetter provided the assist. The Thunder were below their usual level of shot production, taking 16 shots compared to the 24.5 Wichita averages. Wichita also got points from Ian Lowe, who also tallied one goal and one assist. The Missouri penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The Mavericks surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. Missouri's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Wichita power plays. The Mavericks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Missouri puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. The Mavericks put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 27.6 they average per game. Missouri was led by Rob Kleebaum, who scored the team's only goal.
