The game between the Allen Americans and the Tulsa Oilers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Allen emerged with a 5-4 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Kale Kerbashian's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Kerbashian had a great game for the Americans, netting two goals.

Allen pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 44 penalty minutes.

The Americans forced Tulsa goalie Ross MacKinnon to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Allen also got points from Alex Lavoie, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Trevor Ludwig, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Allen also got a goal from Tyler Ludwig as well. More assists for Allen came via Mike Berube, Daniel Tetrault, Jamie Schaafsma, Spencer Asuchak, Darryl Bootland, Ross Rouleau, and John Snowden, who contributed one a piece.

The Oilers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and two majors for 26 minutes in penalty time. Tulsa surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. The Oilers put 34 shots on net during the contest, more than the 29.1 they average per game.

Tulsa was led by Brandon Coccimiglio, who racked up one goal and two assists. Coccimiglio scored 9:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tulsa. Adam Pleskach provided the assist. Nathan Lutz also scored for Tulsa. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Todd Robinson and Ryan Barlock, who each chipped in one.

Allen's Bryan Pitton stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Americans registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. MacKinnon rejected 29 shots on goal for the Oilers. Tulsa registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
