Rapid City beat the Arizona Sundogs, 5-3, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Rapid City took over the lead for good with a goal by Eric Giosa at 19:27 in the first period. Jesse Schultz picked up the assist.Konrad Reeder was all over the ice for Rapid City, as he finished with two goals in the win. Reeder found the back of the net short handed 17:50 into the first period to make the score 2-2 and again while 15:43 into the second to make the score 4-2 Rapid City. Rapid City averages 34.1 shots on goal per game, but only sent 20 pucks on net against Arizona. Rapid City also got a goal from Justin Faryna as well. More assists for Rapid City came via Winston Day Chief and Bob Preece, who each chipped in one and Tristin Llewellyn and Scott Brannon, who contributed two a piece. By firing 33 shots on goal, the Sundogs exceeded the 23.9 shots they average per game this year. Arizona was helped by Kevin Baker, who tallied one goal.
