Allen completes comeback, beats Tulsa, 3-2BOK Center Sun, Oct 27, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Allen Americans battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Tulsa Oilers. Allen never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Americans was down 2-0 after a goal by Tulsa's Michel Beausoleil at 17:58 in the first period. Allen tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Kale Kerbashian at 12:55 in the second period. The Americans netted the game winner short handed at 16:38 in the second period on a goal by Kerbashian. Allen pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. The Americans' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Tulsa power plays. Allen was helped by Jarret Lukin, who had one goal. Allen also got points from Kerbashian, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Allen also got a goal from Jonathan Lessard as well. More assists for Allen came via Daniel Tetrault, Alex Lavoie, Jamie Schaafsma, Darryl Bootland, and Corey Tamblyn, who contributed one a piece. The Oilers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Tulsa averages 31.8 shots on goal per game, but only sent 24 pucks on net against the Americans. The Oilers' defensemen bolstered Tulsa's offensive attack, as they bombarded David Brown with 12 shots. Jake Obermeyer also scored for Tulsa. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Ben Gordon, who had one and Todd Robinson, who had two. David Brown made 22 saves for Allen on 24 shots. Shane Madolora recorded 27 saves for the Oilers. Tulsa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
