Wichita falls to Allen in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Allen Americans' Todd Robinson scored 2:47 into overtime to beat the Wichita Thunder, 3-2 (OT).

The win by Allen clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

The Americans overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Allen fell behind 2-0 after a short handed goal by Wichita's RG Flath at 13:38 in the second period. The Americans tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Trevor Hendrikx at 17:41 in the third period.

Allen was sparked by Robinson, who had one goal.

The Americans kept the Thunder's goalie busy throughout the game, and Torrie Jung made 34 saves on 37 shots.

Jarret Lukin also scored for Allen. In addition, Allen received assists from Drew Daniels, Kale Kerbashian, Jamie Schaafsma, and Mike Montgomery, who contributed one a piece.

Wichita stifled Allen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Other players who recorded assists for Wichita were Chad Painchaud and Andrew Martens, who each chipped in one.

Aaron Dell made 21 saves for the Americans on 23 shots. Allen incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Thunder incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
