Leafs hangs on, beats Test 1-0

Brad Marchant gave Leafs the lead in the first period, and Test was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 1-0.

A goal 17 seconds into the the first period by Marchant proved to be the game winner, and powered Leafs to the victory Milan Lucic assisted on the tally.

Leafs was led by Marchant, who registered one goal.

Leafs' offense was clicking better than usual and put 15 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.0 shot per game it averages.

Other players who recorded assists for Leafs were Josh Scott, who had one.

Test's offense was handcuffed by Leafs' defensive play, and Test managed only three shots on goal during the game.

Tim Thomas recorded three saves for Leafs. Leafs avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Test's puck stopper stopped 14 shots out of the 15 that he faced. Test finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage.
