The Tulsa Oilers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Arizona Sundogs on the way to a 4-2 win.

Tulsa took a 4-0 lead during the third period, only to have Arizona storm back on a Jason Morgan goal 19:01 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Oilers' offense was clicking better than usual and put 28 shots on goal during the game, better than the 19.9 shots per game they average. Tulsa's offense was helped by the efforts of its defensemen, who managed to put 13 shots on net during the game.

The Oilers were helped by Michel Beausoleil, who had one goal. Beausoleil scored on the power play 14:34 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Tulsa. Tulsa had gained a power play chance when Matt McCready was whistled for hooking. Jeff Buvinow picked up the assist. Ben Gordon also scored for Tulsa. Other players who recorded assists for Tulsa were Drew Fisher, who had one and Kyle Mariani and Ryan Menei, who each chipped in two.

The 38 shots that the Sundogs put on net surpassed Arizona's average of 21.8 shots per game this season.

Arizona also got a goal from Kevin Petovello as well. In addition, Arizona received assists from Chad Nehring and Cody Purves, who contributed one a piece.

The Oilers' Shane Madolora stopped 36 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Tulsa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. David Brown made 24 saves for the Sundogs on 28 shots. Arizona incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
