Rapid City could not stop the Bloomington Blaze's Tyler Gron, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win.

Rapid City was stymied by Bloomington netminder Dan Dunn, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. The solid play of Dunn will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.83.

The the Blaze penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and three majors for 31 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game Bloomington had been spending in the box. The Blaze's offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 14 shots on net during the game.

Bloomington also got points from Jon Booras, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Bloomington were Jesse Dudas, who had two and Sebastien Trudeau and Nicklas Lindberg, who contributed one a piece.

Rapid City racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and three majors for 29 minutes in penalty time. Rapid City had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. Rapid City's offense rang up 32 shots on Bloomington's net.

Rapid City was led by Kyle Peto, who scored the team's only goal. Peto scored on the power play 3:08 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Bloomington. A slashing penalty on Travis Granbois had put Rapid City on the power play. Jarrett Konkle assisted on the tally.
