Quad City wins tough contest against Bloomington, 4-2Grossinger Motors Arena Wed, Dec 12, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Quad City Mallards and the Bloomington Blaze were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Quad City made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Anthony Perdicaro at 3:11 of the third period. The Mallards were led by Perdicaro, who registered one goal. Quad City's offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 26.3 shots per game it averages. Quad City additionally got points from Mickey Lang, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Mike Hellyer, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Quad City also got a goal from Matt Boyd as well. Other players who recorded assists for Quad City were Matt Duffy, who had two and Darren McMillan, Derek Matheson, and Obi Aduba, who each chipped in one. Bloomington kept the Mallards' goalie busy throughout the game, and John Murray made 39 saves on 41 shots. The Blaze were helped by Jon Booras, who had one goal. Booras scored on the power play 19:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington. A high sticking penalty on Matheson had put Bloomington on the power play. Matthew Larke picked up the assist. Travis Granbois also scored for Bloomington. In addition, Bloomington received assists from Sebastien Trudeau, Nicklas Lindberg, and Jesse Dudas, who contributed one a piece. Quad City incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Dan Dunn made 31 saves for the Blaze on 34 shots. Bloomington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
