Fort Worth's comeback falls short, Tulsa wins 4-2

The Tulsa Oilers, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Tulsa and clinched a 4-2 victory.

The Oilers led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Tulsa's Michel Beausoleil's scored short handed at 11:03 in the second period to put the Oilers up 3-0.

By firing 31 shots on goal, Tulsa exceeded the 25.3 shots it averages per game this year.

Tulsa also got points from Drew Akins, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Tulsa also got a goal from Ben Gordon as well. Other players who recorded assists for Tulsa were Gio Flamminio, Sean Erickson, Gary Steffes, Matt Register, and Ryan Cramer, who contributed one a piece.

The Fort Worth Brahmas forced the Oilers goalie Ian Keserich to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Fort Worth was led by Riley Boychuk, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Boychuk scored on the power play 11:38 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Tulsa. The Brahmas had gotten the advantage when Tulsa's Akins was sent off for interference. Phil Fox provided the assist. Brendon Hodge also scored for Fort Worth. More assists for Fort Worth came via Sy Nutkevitch and Cody Hamilton, who each chipped in one.

Ian Keserich made 30 saves for the Oilers on 32 shots. Tulsa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Fort Worth's Larry Sterling stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Brahmas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
