Chaumont leads Fort Wayne over Wichita, 6-3

Bobby Chaumont had two goals and one assist to lead the Fort Wayne Komets to a 6-3 victory over the Wichita Thunder.

Chaumont found the back of the net 8:45 into the first period to make the score 4-1 Fort Wayne and again while 6:38 into the second to make the score 6-2 Fort Wayne.

The win by Fort Wayne clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Komets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Wichita power plays.

Fort Wayne also got points from Frankie DeAngelis, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Mike Vaskivuo, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Colin Chaulk, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kaleigh Schrock also scored for Fort Wayne. In addition, Fort Wayne received assists from Tom Mele, Brett Smith, Jamie Milam, and Chris Auger, who each chipped in one.

Wichita was led by Aaron Davis, who had one goal and one assist. Davis scored 2:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wichita. Wichita additionally got points from Thomas Beauregard, who also registered one goal and one assist. Wichita also got a goal from Matt Robinson as well. More assists for Wichita came via Daniel Tetrault, who had one.

Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Komets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bryan Hogan recorded 19 saves for the Thunder. Wichita incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
