Tulsa squeaks by Laredo, 5-3

The Tulsa Oilers and the Laredo Bucks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Tulsa made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by David Solway at 1:40 of the third period.

Dylan Clarke had one goal and two assists to lead the Oilers. Clarke scored on the power play 3:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tulsa. Tulsa had gotten the advantage when Laredo's David Inman was sent off for interference. Jeff Terminesi assisted on the tally.

The Oilers took advantage of the Bucks' penalties, tallying three goals off of four power play opportunities.

Tulsa additionally got points from Mike Ullrich, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Sean Erickson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Gary Steffes, who also had one goal and one assist.

Laredo was led by Colin McIntosh, who racked up one goal and one assist. McIntosh scored 7:26 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Laredo. A.J. Hau picked up the assist. Joseph Harcharik also scored for Laredo. In addition, Laredo received assists from Greg Moore, who had one and Matt Boyd, who had two.

Steve Christie made 10 saves before being replaced by Ian Keserich, who took the win and made 12 saves. Tulsa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Ryan Rondeau rejected 20 shots on goal for the Bucks. Laredo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
