Lee's goals lift Rio Grande Valley to 4-1 victory over Laredo

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees relied on the scoring touch of Aaron Lee, who netted two goals, to beat the Laredo Bucks, 4-1.

Lee's tallies came on the power play at 15:06 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and 19:53 into the third to make the score 4-1 Rio Grande Valley.

Rio Grande Valley relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Lee, Dan Gendur and Nicolas Rioux took 21 of the team's 41 shots.

Tomas Klempa also scored for Rio Grande Valley. In addition, Rio Grande Valley received assists from Brady Leavold, who had two and Zac Pearson, Jason Dixon, Mike Wilson, and Scott Balan, who contributed one a piece.

Laredo's defensemen bolstered the Bucks' offensive attack, as they bombarded Wylie Rogers with nine shots. Laredo could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Bucks were led by David Inman, who scored the team's only goal. Inman scored on the power play 2:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Laredo. Laredo earned a power play opportunity when Georgi Petrov was put in the box for interference. Neil Trimm assisted on the tally.

The Killer Bees' Rogers stopped 18 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Rio Grande Valley incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ryan Rondeau rejected 37 shots on goal for the Bucks. Laredo registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
