Laredo beats Allen 5-0 as Rondeau gains shutout

Ryan Rondeau recorded a shutout against Allen as the Laredo Bucks picked up a 5-0 win.

Laredo was paced by Neil Trimm, who had one goal and one assist. Trimm scored 3:43 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Laredo. Matt Boyd picked up the assist.

The Bucks stifled Allen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Laredo bested its season scoring average. The Bucks average 2.7 goals per game. Laredo relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Rusty Masters, A.J. Hau and Justin Styffe took 18 of the team's 35 shots.

Erik Boisvert also scored for Laredo. In addition, Laredo received assists from Ryan Sparling, Joseph Harcharik, Tyler Stitt, Adam Rivet, and Matt Hanson, who each chipped in one.

Allen managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Allen wound up below its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Allen's offense operated below it season average. Allen puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Allen relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Colton Yellow Horn, Tyler Ludwig and Jim McKenzie took 17 of the team's 31 shots.

Rondeau recorded 31 saves for the Bucks. Laredo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Rejean Beauchemin made 30 saves for Allen on 35 shots. Allen registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
