TAMPA, Fla. - On Saturday night, the University of Tampa Spartans Hockey Team will honor their 11 graduating seniors as they take on the University of Central Florida Knights.
The 11 Seniors being honored are; Jake Thain, Gus Aldridge, Billy Cody, Ryan Murray, Stephen Buck, Christian Kukas, Josey Davis, Evan Hoffberg, Angelo Picariello, Cam Sacco and Ryan Riter.
The Spartans will take on UCF in a two-game series starting on Friday night at the RDV Ice Den in Orlando with puck-drop scheduled for 9:00pm. Then, Tampa will return home for Senior Night at Clearwater Ice Arena on Saturday for an 8:15pm puck-drop. The Spartans have won their last 15 games in which they have scored 5+ goals in 14 of those 15 games. Spartan sophomore forwards, Connor Berry and Ryan Andrews both enter the weekend having had a huge performance in their last appearance. Berry (3G, 1A, 4P) and Andrews (1G, 5A, 6P) combined for 10 points in Tampa's 9-3 win on Sunday night against the University of Florida Gators. The Spartans will look to improve their 21-1-1 record as they compete in their final 4 games of the regular season.
The University of Central Florida Knights are 3-7-0 in their last 10 games and most recently had an 8-0 win over Middle Tennessee State University. The leading scorers for the Knights are Donovan McClellan (12G, 11A, 23P) and Max Weinstock (12G, 11A, 23P) who have 23 points each.
Friday's game will be streamed on DSPN Live and Saturday's game will be streamed on Black Dog Hockey. Fan Busses to Saturday's game will leave the Vaughn Center at approximately 7:30pm and will return to campus immediately following the completion of the game. Busses run on a first come first serve basis so arrive early to secure your spot!
