Clearwater, Florida. - Spartans had a +16 goal differential in the 2 game series against the University of Florida Gators.
INSIDE THE MATCHUPS:
GAME 1 (Clearwater Ice Arena | Clearwater, FL):
The Spartans opened up scoring early on Saturday night. Freshman Lleyton Buscher scored on a pass from fellow freshman Chris Gannon. The rest of the period was a defensive showdown and no more scoring happened. The Gators scored two unanswered goals in the second period bringing the score to 2-1. The Spartans turned up the heat in Clearwater, scoring six goals in the final twelve minutes of the game. Freshmen Chris Gannon and Franco Caminiti scored two goals apiece. Freshman Sean Joyce and senior Joe Pizzo scored goals as well. Florida put up a solitary goal in the period. Will DeCaro played like a brick wall to help push the Spartans to 15-0.

GAME 2 (Clearwater Ice Arena | Clearwater, FL):
The D3 Spartans came out hotter than the night before, scoring five goals in the first period. Sophomore Jack Healy scored two goals and tallied two assists in the period. Freshman Thomas McKiernan, Sophomore Anthony Mancine, and Junior Demitri Samarkos scored in the first as well. The Gators put up a goal of their own in the period. In the second period Samarkos tallied another. Sophomore James Ashe and Junior Adam Louise joined in on the scoring. Florida added another goal in the second. The third period featured goals from freshmen Connor Yates, Chris Gannon, Dillon Passero, and Eli Kirby. The veterans Jack Healy, Joe Pizzo, and Ron Rentner scored as well. The Gators put in another goal to round out their three total. Justin Child played strong in net and the Spartans won their sixteenth game in a row.

UP NEXT:
The D3 Spartans come back from Thanksgiving break and play the USF Bulls on December 4th and 5th. Games will be at Advent Health Center Ice (Wesley Chapel, FL) and Clearwater Ice Arena (Clearwater, FL).
