Saul, Johnson Continue to Shine Through Week 10

Vermont - The Westerners used a clutch two-run single by Noah Dickerson and solid pitching to snap their three game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Sanford Mainers on Wednesday night.
After getting roughed up for ten runs as a pitching staff against Ocean State, Emmet Sheehan turned things around. In his four innings of work, he surrendered only one hit while striking out seven batters. He would however be left with a no decision as the Mainers would push across a run to tie the game at 1 after five innings of play.
In the next half inning, Dickerson, only appearing in his second game as a Westerner would poke a single to score Nick Lorusso and Vinny Bailey to give Danbury the lead again.
The Westerners bullpen would come up huge in the late innings as Christian Allegretti, Antonio Velardi and Tyler Penner would allow just one run over the final five innings to close the win, which was credited to Allegretti, his third of the season.
Danbury looks to make it two wins in a row Thursday night when they face off with the Winnipesaukee Muskrats.
