Draft Status: 2014 – Seattle Mariners (34th Round, 1011th Overall)

Andrew Summerville comes to Newport and joins fellow Cardinal Kris Bubic with the Gulls after a strong season with Stanford. Summerville appeared in 16 games for the Cardinal, making seven starts. He pitched a total of 59 innings, going 5-2 with a 2.90 ERA, and holding opposing batters to a .230 average. For the Cardinal in 2015 as a freshman, he was 4-1 with a 3.38 ERA, and held opposing hitters to a .221 average.

Ranked nationally as the 58th best left-handed pitcher for the Class of 2014, he was ranked as the eighth best prospect in the state of Washington. Summerville lettered for four years in baseball at Lakeside High School in Seattle, Washington. He was the captain of the baseball team for three years, and was First-Team All-Metro as a freshman, junior, and senior. He was the 2014 Metro League MVP, and 2014 Washington State 3A Player of the Year. He was also able to lead Lakeside to its first state tournament appearance in program history.
