HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Quartz Hill High School, where he is was a standout on the baseball team..As a senior, he posted a 10-2 record, with 137 strikeouts, and had a 0.93 ERA in 75.1 innings of work…the 137 strikeouts was the most among all California high school pitchers, and ranked 16th nationally…he was named All-State, and All-CIF Southern Section as a senior…played on the 2013 Milwaukee Brewers Area Code team....in his junior season, he posted an overall record of 11-3, while bolstering a 2.01 ERA...as a junior he struck out a total of 80 batters in 55.2 innings of work... he was a first-team All-Alley selection, a first-team All-Golden League, and an All-State nominee in his junior season.....was drafted in the 35th round of the 2014 MLB draft by the New York Mets.
PERSONAL:Jonathan Lee Teaney was born on January 28, 1996 in Lancaster, Calif...he is the son of Job and Gretchen Teaney...he was also recruited by San Diego State, and Cal Poly SLO...Notes his grandfather played baseball at Ohio University, and his great-uncle played baseball for the University of Minnesota.
