2015: Started the season with Southern Maryland. Finished the season 3-3 with a 3.35 ERA. Picked up his first win on April 30th against Long Island, throwing 2.0 innings and striking out three. Left Southern Maryland to pitch for a month in Italy with T&A San Marino. Returned to Southern Maryland on August 20th and pitched 0.2 innings against York. Secured the victory on September 3rd against Lancaster, getting the start and pitching 6.0 innings, allowing three runs on six hits, and striking out three. Playoffs: pitched in four games, throwing a total of 3.1 innings, striking out four.
Previous Career: Selected by the New York Yankees in the 43rd round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. Signed by Steve Lemke on May 21st 2004 as a non-drafted free agent. Made his Major League debut with the Chicago Cubs on August 13th, 2009 against the Philadelphia Phillies. Pitched parts of three seasons with the Chicago Cubs from 2009-2011.
Personal/Amateur: Justin Christopher Berg, born on June 7th 1984 in Antigo, Wisconsin. Began his college career with Indian Hills Community College, and transferred to Triton College. Serves as a pitching instructor in the offseason at Premier Sports Academy. Resides in Antigo, Wisconsin.
