Kuzia has appeared and started 12 games for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in the 2016 season. Through 60.1 innings pitched, Kuzia has been invaluable to the Riverhawks this season ranking second in innings pitched. He picked up a complete-game shutout on March 30 against the New York Institute of Technology, dominating the Bears offense as he allowed just two hits in the entire ballgame while setting down eight batters by way of the strike out.

Kuzia finished his freshman campaign with a 2-2 record with 21 strikeouts in 37 innings including an impressive outing against LIU Brooklyn in his final game of the season, where he set down five batters in six innings.
