Watt was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2nd Round of the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft from Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, CA.  He spent two season with the Dodgers organization before being traded in the Greg Maddox deal in 2008 that sent him to the San Diego Padres farm system.  In six seasons in affiliated ball the lefty posted a 28-24 record and a 4.48 ERA in 115 Appearances, 93 of them starts.
