Denton played four seasons at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, where he posted a career .340 batting average and was a four-year starter. Collected 34 career doubles, 11 triples, and six home runs in 535 at bats. Accumulated 60 career walks. Threw out 15 of 31 runners trying to steal his senior season of 2014. Hit .380 that season, highlighted by a game-winning home run against Mid-America Christian. Graduated from Sharyland High School in Mission, TX. Is the son of Randy and Donna, who are both ministers. Is engaged to Shelby Morgan, who was on the women’s soccer team at SAGU.
