A standout in TSL preseason workouts, Bruno played at NAIA University of Mobile, batting .274 in 35 games in 2014 with a .357 on base percentage. Charged with only two pass balls and threw out 11 of 29 runners attempting to steal. In 2013, Bruno, playing under the name “Michael,” hit .316 with three home runs and 17 RBIs in 98 at bats, posting an .858 OPS. Was a two-year starter at Delgado Junior College, where he was a consistent threat to drive in runs for the Dolphins, and three-year starter and All-State selection at St. Paul’s Episcopal High School.
