Holt begins his first season with the Ducks and in the Atlantic League in 2014. He has spent his entire five-year professional baseball career in the New York Mets organization. Last season, the North Carolina native split time between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Buffalo, totaling a 2-1 record with a 4.08 ERA, two saves and 45 strikeouts over 53 innings of work.

The 27-year old worked as a starter in the Mets organization for the first three years of his career before converting to a reliever during the 2012 season. In his first year of professional baseball, he went 5-3 with a 1.87 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 72 and one-third innings of work for Brooklyn (A-, Mets). The UNC-Wilmington alum was named by Baseball America as the fourth best prospect in the Mets organization in 2009. Holt was originally selected by the Mets in the first round (33rd pick) of the 2008 draft.
