Pump Jacks fans will be delighted to welcome the 2011 All-TCL closer back to East Texas this summer.

Last season, the Hallsville, Texas native was dominant out of the Pump Jacks’ bullpen, posting 9 saves and a miniscule 1.84 ERA while sharing the TCL’s top closer honors with the Brazos Valley Bombers’ Garrett Shepherd. The short-statured but hard-throwing Jester gave up only 17 hits and 7 walks while striking out 44 batters in just 34.1 innings pitched. He also held opponents to a paltry .147 batting average and led the Pump Jacks in striking out 11.5 batters per 9 innings. At one point last season, he worked a string of 13 straight scoreless appearances, giving up just 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out 29.

Before transferring to Texas A&M this year, Jester was also dominant at Tyler Junior College, going 9-2 with a 1.95 ERA, 3 shutouts and 5 complete games his final season. He also struck out 87 batters in 78.1 innings for the Apaches, attracting multitudes of scouts to his games.
