An emerging piece in the Louisville bullpen, and a rookie who led the team in appearances over the Cardinals’ opening two and a half months, Campbell figures to be an important part of the Bats’ pitching staff in 2023. The 18th U of L product to come to Keene for a summer made his collegiate debut against Bucknell on February 18 and picked up his first career win against Miami (Fla.) on April 28.  Fourteen of his first 19 relief outings were scoreless, including striking out a season-best four against Dayton on March 12. Overall, he K’d 19 in his first 15.1 frames for head coach Dan McDonnell. Campbell was rated the No. 2 left-handed pitcher and No. 5 overall prospect in Ohio (No. 45 LHP in nation) by Perfect Game out of Fairfield High School in Cincinnati.
