Julien Hernandez caught fire for the Blues this spring as he threw 85.2 Innings(team high) while accumulating 102 batters whiffed (team high)along with a 2.73 ERA in 8 wins (team high). Hernandez earned himself Northwest Conference Pitcher of the Year honors along with D3Baseball.com Third Team All-Region and ABCA First Team. Hernandez is considered a journeyman in summer baseball as he has played for three different teams in 2 separate leagues. In summer 2021 Hernandez started with the Syracuse Salt Cats of the New York Collegiate League(NYCL) for 8 games then made the transition to the West Coast League(WCL) where he played for the Walla Walla Sweets. In the summer of 2022, Hernandez continued in the WCL but made the switch to the Springfield Drifters. Hernandez dominated in both leagues as he sported an impressive 2.18 ERA over 60 innings pitched.
