Huntington native Parisi joins the Ducks having played seven seasons of professional baseball. The right-hander split the 2010 season in the Chicago Cubs organization with Triple-A Iowa and Double-A Tennessee. He combined to start six games, striking out 13 batters in 20.2 innings pitched. Parisi reached the Major Leagues in 2008 with the St. Louis Cardinals, appearing in 12 games (2 starts). For his minor league career, Parisi has a record of 40-42 with a 4.38 ERA and 493 strikeouts in 121 games, all starts. The 27-year-old was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the ninth round of the 2004 amateur draft.
