Pagano, a middle infield extraordinaire, is back for his second straight season with Sanford after finishing his third year at UNC-Asheville in 2018.  This season Pagano played in and started all 51 games for the Bulldogs as the shortstop racked up a team-high 53 hits to go along with a .259 batting average, good enough for third on the team. He collected 24 RBIs and 10 doubles, all while scoring 26 runs.  Pagano is known for his glove and range up the middle as he turned a team best 24 double plays to go with 77 putouts and 136 assists.  In his first two seasons he was top five on the team with a batting average of .235 racking up 87 hits, 40 RBIs and 53 runs scored.  Primarily a shortstop, he flipped 44 double plays and led the team (8th in the conference) in assists with 147 and in his freshman year he was second on the team with 112.  A three year starter at Southeast Guilford High School in McLeansville, NC, he bounced between second base, shortstop and third and was named to the Perfect Game All-Region team in his junior and senior years.
