Jimmy Roche is returning for his second season as a member of the Muskegon Clippers. The Orland Park, Illinois native appeared in 26 games last summer during an injury-riddled campaign that saw him finish the season with a .250 average. Jimmy is an outstanding athlete whose flexibility allowed him to contribute at a variety of defensive positions including shortstop, third base, the outfield, and an occasional stint as the designated hitter.
Prior to entering Western Michigan University, Jimmy led his Carl Sandburg High School team to a conference championship in 2013 and a regional championship in 2014. He hit .472 with 16 doubles his senior year while striking out only four times. Jimmy also had a 33 game hitting streak during his a prep career. His efforts earned him a place on the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association 4A All-State Team in 2015.
Jimmy Roche is currently in his third year as a member of the Western Michigan Baseball Program where he is expected to play a major role in 2018. Over his first two seasons, he has appeared in 53 games for the Broncos hitting .260 while fielding at a .977 clip. A personal highlight during the 2017 season was a 4 for 6 performance against Georgetown University.
Born on October 4, 1996, Jimmy is the son of Jim and Karen Roche and has an older sister Jess. Welcome back to Muskegon Jimmy.
