The California Glory (17-10) took the last of four lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Auburn Wildcats (19-8), securing a 9-5 victory on Saturday at Zupo Field.
Josh Grijalva racked up three RBIs on two hits for the California Glory. He singled in the sixth inning and homered in the seventh inning.
The Auburn Wildcats couldn't get anything going so long as Brandon Nicholson was on the hill. Nicholson held the Auburn Wildcats hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
Despite the loss, the Auburn Wildcats' Chad Hodges dominated the California Glory's batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.
Hodges ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
