The SYR JR Chiefs (25-10) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 7-6 ballgame against the Adirondack (22-15) on Friday at Robert Smith Sports Complex .
While the SYR JR Chiefs led until the sixth inning, the Adirondack worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Eric Baker.
Cody Campbell racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Adirondack. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Ryan Krokos brought the heat against the SYR JR Chiefs during his outing. Krokos held the SYR JR Chiefs hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Even though Sean Badger allowed six runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered five hits.
Jed Lehman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
