The Maui Na Koa Ikaika survive the Sonoma County Grapes 4-2 thanks to Sandoval's late-game heroics

Danny Sandoval brought home the winning run to give the Maui Na Koa Ikaika (6-8) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Maui Na Koa Ikaika hung on to beat the Sonoma County Grapes (6-8) 4-2 on Wednesday.

Kalaika Kahoohalahala singled to start the eighth. He then went from second to third on a single by AJ Alexander. Finally, Sandoval came to the plate with the score tied at two, and singled, bringing home Kahoohalahala.

Sandoval reached base three times in the game for the Maui Na Koa Ikaika. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the seventh and eighth innings.

Mike Williams pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out four.

Victor Ferrante got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Jeffrey Lyons (1-1) took the loss for the Sonoma County Grapes. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
