A superb effort by Blake Gailen led the Lancaster Barnstormers (21-15) to a 5-1 win in seven innings over the Sugar Land Skeeters (15-20) on Sunday at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
Gailen rocked the Sugar Land Skeeters with two home runs. Gailen went 2-2 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Gailen homered in the fifth and sixth innings.
The Sugar Land Skeeters jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Sugar Land Skeeters led until the sixth inning, but the Lancaster Barnstormers took the lead back on an RBI single by Terry Tiffee.
The Sugar Land Skeeters had no answer for Rich Rundles, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Sugar Land Skeeters managed just two hits off of Rundles, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his four innings of work.
Dwayne Pollok got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered two hits.
Ryan Houston was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
