The Southland Vikings (15-19) didn't put up much of a fight on Wednesday, as the Will County CrackerJacks (23-13) cruised to a blowout 7-1 win at Homewood HS.
The Will County CrackerJacks scored two runs in the eighth on an RBI single by Mitch Elliott, an RBI single by Elliott, and an RBI single by John Menken.
Elliott put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Will County CrackerJacks.
Ben Gullo picked up the win for the Will County CrackerJacks. Gullo pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and four walks while striking out five.
Jim Tucker couldn't get it done on the bump for the Southland Vikings, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
The Will County CrackerJacks were sparked by Elliott and Daniel Nevares, who teamed up for seven hits and four RBIs.
