The Rockford Foresters fall 11-4 at the hands of the Chicago Zephyrs

The Chicago Zephyrs (10-18) pounded the Rockford Foresters (8-24) on Monday 11-4 at Waubonsee CC.

The Chicago Zephyrs scored four runs in the fifth on an error, a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Jake Jouris, an RBI single by Jouris, and a groundout by Scott Kubo.

Peter Les racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Chicago Zephyrs.

The Rockford Foresters had no answer for George Heller, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Heller gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Nick Richter racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Rockford Foresters. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second inning.

Kyle Bender got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Brady Stanton couldn't get it done on the hill for the Rockford Foresters, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in five innings, walked none and struck out three.
