Elliott Armstrong went 4-4 at the plate, helping the Southland Vikings (12-16) to a 4-1 victory over the Will County CrackerJacks (18-10) on Sunday at Brennan Field.

He tripled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Chris Chigas picked up the win for the Southland Vikings. Chigas pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, three hits and three walks while striking out two.

Carter Smith pitched lights out for the Will County CrackerJacks. The Southland Vikings managed just two hits off of Smith, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Kyle Pomeroy (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
