The DeKalb County Liners (18-10) and the Chicago Zephyrs (8-18) both threatened with rallies, but it was the DeKalb County Liners that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-2 win at Founders Field.

Cody Simon put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the DeKalb County Liners. He doubled in the second and sixth innings.

The DeKalb County Liners relied on Brody Justice to eat up innings en route to the win. Justice allowed no earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out five over 7 2/3 innings of work.

Alex Brown ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.
