Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the Northwest Indiana Oilmen (17-11) outscored the DuPage County Hounds (14-14) 22-10.
The two teams combined for 36 hits in the game.
The Northwest Indiana Oilmen ran up the score, scoring runs at will until the final out. The Northwest Indiana Oilmen scored three runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. The Northwest Indiana Oilmen scored eight runs in the sixth on a groundout by Kevin Franchetti, a two-run single by Chris Rudenga, an RBI single by John Loeffler, a sacrifice fly by Cody Dykema, a double by Billy Miller, and a three-run home run by Jack Cinoman.
Cinoman racked up five RBIs on four hits for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen.
Even though Nik Mason allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. Mason struck out two, walked three and gave up seven hits.
Daniel Will was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.
The Northwest Indiana Oilmen pounded the DuPage County Hounds pitching, as six hitters combined for 19 hits, 16 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
