The Rockford Foresters defeat the Chicago Zephyrs after late game wild pitch, 7-3

The Rockford Foresters (8-32) and the Chicago Zephyrs (15-24) volleyed the lead six times on Friday, but the Rockford Foresters came out on top for a 7-3 win on Friday at Marinelli Field.

The Rockford Foresters finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning. A wild pitch scored Mark Goldsmith to give the Rockford Foresters the lead for good.

Tom Weissbeck put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Rockford Foresters. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh and eighth innings.

Sean Hudson brought the heat against the Chicago Zephyrs during his outing. Hudson held the Chicago Zephyrs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Alex Raver was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed five runs.

The Rockford Foresters' Zach Wisowaty, Phil Toldo and Weissbeck combined for six hits and three RBIs.
